To the President of the United States, Members of Congress, and the American People:

We, the undersigned, call upon our government to honor its longstanding obligations to African Americans by delivering reparations for slavery, discrimination, and systemic injustices before committing to any new war, including one with Iran.

For over a century and a half, the descendants of enslaved Americans have watched promises like “40 acres and a mule” go unfulfilled. Meanwhile, our nation has spent countless billions sending troops and resources overseas. We assert that it is morally and politically unjust to ask the descendants of slavery — and Americans of all races — to bear the burdens and sacrifices of a new war while ignoring the debts and injustices of the past.

We, the people, demand:

✅ The establishment and funding of a federal reparations program.

✅ The passage of H.R. 40 or its equivalent to study and implement reparatory policies.

✅ A public commitment from Congress and the President that this issue will be addressed before any new military engagement.

The time is now. Our nation can no longer delay repairing its foundation. True strength at home is the bedrock of honor and integrity abroad.
