The lack of consistent interventions, personalized one-on-ones, and necessary therapy services provided to special needs children is a pressing concern. We find ourselves navigating a system that seems more inclined to offer parent courses addressing universal concerns than it is to address the unique needs of our children. Our specific journey includes waiting indefinitely for crucial speech and occupational therapies without any certainty on when or whether services will be available. It feels as though our children are being put into a cycle of waiting and forgotten promises.

Children with special needs rely on timely, individualized interventions to thrive. Speech therapy, occupational therapy, and other essential services are not luxuries—they are necessities. A delay in these services can significantly impact a child's development, leading to setbacks that could be avoided with proper, timely care.

Currently, services through the Children's Disability Network Teams (CDNTs) and Health Service Executive (HSE) and enable ireland leave families in limbo. This isn't just an issue of inconvenience; the stakes are incredibly high for our kids' futures. Every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential and live the fullest, most independent life possible.

We are calling on CDNTs ,enable ireland  and HSE to prioritize the service delivery for children with special needs. A systematic restructure or additional funding might be necessary to ensure that these children receive the life-changing therapies they require. It is unacceptable to place specialized therapy services on endless waiting lists.
