Petition updateNo more kids with cancer: clean up the Santa Susana Field LabStop the Naturalist Training at one of CA's Most Radioactive Sites

After all you've read about Boeing's schemes at the Santa Susana Field Lab, one of California's most toxic sites and the location of one of America's worst nuclear meltdowns - this really shouldn't shock you - but it probably will.

Because now it's not just Boeing playing dirty. The California State Parks Department is helping. They're lending credibility and support to Naturalist Training Courses onsite at the Field Lab to unsuspecting nature lovers.

Children as young as twelve can come to the Santa Susana Field Lab to learn about nature and be potentially exposed to endocrine-disrupting chemicals, toxic metals, and radioactive waste.

In a letter, we have already nicely asked the California Department of Parks and Recreation to stop cooperating in these naturalist trainings at the Santa Susana Field Lab. Their participation in the program makes it seem like the site is safe when it's clearly not. We reminded them that the nearby state and local parks are beautiful, free, and aren't toxic or radioactive. They told us no. They've already put out invitations for next year's classes, starting in January 2025.

We don't want our public tax dollars used toward Boeing's smokescreen for corporate irresponsibility that's giving our kids cancer and polluting our environment. We don't want nature lovers exposed to toxic or radioactive contamination because they weren't warned that the site is dangerous.

Please sign our petition asking the California Department of Parks and Recreation to stand by our community, prioritize human health, and protect the environment over corporate interest by immediately ceasing to participate in all events at the Santa Susana Field Lab.
