Petition updateNo more kids with cancer: clean up the Santa Susana Field LabNASA removed a peaceful supporter from their public meeting… for opposing their lies to the public.

Last week NASA held a public meeting to present plans to clean up their portion of the Santa Susana Field Lab. The meeting reaffirmed for me that government entities and corporations are not going to save our children – they only want to silence us.

NASA announced that it plans to leave up to one hundred percent of the toxic waste on site. Permanently. That’s generations and generations more children who could develop cancer.

The meeting was supposed to be a chance for them to reassure our community and listen to any remaining concerns. Instead NASA displayed posters detailing false and harmful information, did not allow for public comment, and even called in eight police officers to remove a long time clean up activist who attempted to give a presentation correcting the lies they were spreading.

NASA is pushing misleading and unfounded concerns about the amount of soil it would take to clean up the site, but no one is talking about the soil it took to bury our children. I’ve been to too many children’s funerals, and I can’t stand by while NASA ignores us.

What else will they do to keep us quiet? It was appalling to see an American government agency not only lie to the public, but then have a peaceful protester removed from their meeting. I felt like I was in Russia, not America.

Help be a voice for our community. You can email a comment to NASA (msfc-ssfl-eis@mail.nasa.gov) stating that it is unacceptable to leave ANY carcinogenic waste in a location so close to the local community.

You can also watch my 15 minute video from NASA’s meeting where I explain their lies, board by board.
