Most of you know me as the voice of this campaign, but you should know that there is a whole team of people behind me – and almost all of them are mothers. We call ourselves “the women who move mountains,” as we’ve declared we will do anything to protect our kids from the contamination at the Field Lab, even if it means tearing down mountains with our bare hands.
We just learned that we have an opportunity to join the Alliance for Nuclear Accountability in Washington D.C. in two weeks, but we need your help.
We hope to solicit support from our legislators, both Democrats and Republicans, for a cleanup of the Santa Susana Field Lab, as both the federal Department of Energy, and NASA have said they will back out of their 2010 AOC 100% cleanup promises. As it stands now, they will leave up to 98% of the waste on site permanently.
It is an incredible opportunity, one that will potentially get us much closer to a cleanup once and for all. To make it happen, we do need a little help. In order to get our mountain-moving-moms out to DC, we need to raise $2,300.
Getting these ladies to Washington is crucial in this fight. We know their presence will make a huge difference. Can you help us?
In honor of your mother, and mother figures, will you donate to help us send more of our team to Washington D.C., so we can move mountains? Even a $5 donation would really help.
Thank you!! We’ll keep you posted on our progress through Facebook and Twitter as we meet with the House of Representatives and Congress.
