Friends,

How much do you hate childhood cancer? Do you hate it enough to join me on October 3, 2018 in Los Angeles to rally the next governor to guarantee the 100% cleanup of the Santa Susana Field Lab?

In the above video my daughter Grace is playing with her favorite doll by giving her the same medical procedure she was about to have herself. That’s why I hate childhood cancer. Because spending four months inpatient in the isolation ward isn’t childhood. I hate that if the Field Lab had been cleaned up years ago, Gracie may have never developed cancer.

Join us on October 3rd in downtown Los Angeles to call on Gavin Newsom and John Cox to commit to a clean up of the Santa Susana Field Lab.

Our fight for the cleanup is looking bleak. The Department of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC) has abandoned our community and is close to issuing a recommendation to leave 90% of the contamination on site permanently. We have one option left – to get the next governor of California to agree to make the 100% cleanup of the Santa Susana Field Lab a top priority. He has the power to fire corrupt DTSC officials and appoint people who take the safety of our families seriously. He is our last hope to keep  our children safe from toxic waste.

We need as many people as possible to attend our rally. That’s why I’m asking that you find three friends and bring them with you to our rally. Without you, we’ll fail. And more kids will be diagnosed with cancer.

I know you understand how serious this is for our community. You know about my daughter Gracie and how she’s suffered through two fights against cancer. You know about the other children who have fought cancer, some who passed away. That’s why I’m not afraid to ask you for help, because I know you get it. You’re part of my team.

If you’re able to make it, please RSVP today! For those who can’t attend in person, we’ll be launching a digital week of action on Monday with ways for you to pressure Newsom and Cox.

Here are the details of the event:

October 3, 11:00am - 2:00pm

3660 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90010

Please feel free to bring posters!

Cheers,
Melissa
