¡SE PROCLAMÓ LA DECLARACIÓN DE BUENOS AIRES POR LOS ANIMALES NO HUMANOS!

¡Hola querida comunidad! ¿Cómo están?
Hoy queremos hacerlos partícipes de una declaración histórica para los animales en América Latina.
El pasado 28 de octubre se proclamó la Declaración de Buenos Aires sobre la Personalidad Jurídica de los Animales No Humanos en la Universidad Nacional de Lomas de Zamora.
Este hito en pos de declarar a los animales como sujeto de derecho bajo la ley, es el resultado de un esfuerzo conjunto de la ONG SINTIENTES y la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad Nacional de Lomas de Zamora.
El documento proclamado se alinea con la Declaración de Cambridge (Reino Unido, 2012) y la Declaración de Toulon, (Francia, 2019), las cuales sostienen que, según el rigor científico, los animales son seres conscientes y merecen un estatus jurídico que refleje esta realidad.
Este instrumento se presenta como un documento académico valioso para defender sus derechos globalmente.
Agradecemos a las autoridades de la Universidad, a los jueces, docentes, especialistas y a las ONG que estuvieron presentes en este momento histórico.
Y agradecemos especialmente el apoyo y la presencia del Dr. Philip Low, neurocientífico y autor de la Declaración de Cambridge.

THE BUENOS AIRES DECLARATION ON THE LEGAL PERSONALITY OF NON-HUMAN ANIMALS WAS PROCLAIMED!
Hello, lovely community! How is it going?
Today, we want to share with you a historical declaration for animals in Latin America.
Last October 28th, the Buenos Aires Declaration on the Legal Personality of Non-Human Animals was proclaimed at the National University of Lomas de Zamora.
This milestone in favor of declaring animals subject to law results from the joint effort between the NGO SINTIENTES and the School of Law of the National University of Lomas de Zamora.
This document aligns with the Cambridge Declaration (United Kingdom, 2012) and the Toulon Declaration (France, 2019), which affirm, based on scientific rigor, that animals are sentient beings and deserve a legal status that reflects this reality.
This instrument is presented as a valuable academic document to defend their rights globally.
We want to thank the University authorities, the judges, the professors, the specialists, and the NGOs that were part of this historic moment.
We especially want to thank Dr. Philip Low, neuroscientist and author of the Cambridge Declaration, for his presence and support.
