El diario La Nación nos entrevistó para exponer la URGENCIA de que el proyecto de #LeySintientes sea ley a raíz del caso de Emilia, la perra asesinada el pasado 11 de enero, luego de que el chofer de un micro escolar la atropellara intencionalmente.

Las imágenes de su muerte llegaron al presidente, quien encomendó a la Ministra de Seguridad, Patricia Bullrich, localizar y detener al culpable.

Si la LEY SINTIENTES fuese aprobada, en un caso como este y más allá de la respuesta penal por el acto, la ley permitiría la puesta en marcha de una demanda contra el conductor quien respondería por la muerte del animal, por su sufrimiento previo y por todo el sufrimiento ocasionado a su familia, al tratar a los animales como seres sintientes que forman parte de una.

We were interviewed by La Nación, one of the largest papers in Argentina, to expose the URGENT NEED to pass the #SentientLaw project, following the case of Emilia, the dog killed last January 11, after a school bus driver intentionally ran over her.

The images of her death impacted the Argentinian president, who instructed the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, to identify and arrest the offender.

If the SENTIENT LAW becomes a reality, in a case like this, beyond any criminal liability, the law would allow filing a lawsuit against the driver, who would be held accountable for the death of Emilia, her suffering leading to her death, and the predicament caused to her family. Because animals are sentient beings that are part of a family.
