Hi everyone,
We hope this note finds you well. Believe it or not, it's been at least 4 years since most of you signed the petition opposing the diversion of Braddock Park, sadly the plans to build a permanent school in the park are still in the works.
Some recent good news to share is the Mayor Brian Stack and the Union City Board of Commissioners passed a resolution last week, stating their opposition to diverting county parkland for the school. While that's good news, it's not going to be enough to stop the project.
North Bergen has recently submitted their final application to NJ DEP and is expected to schedule another public hearing in the next few months. We need to stay alert and involved in pushing to stop this.
If you'd like to stay updated on new developments, when the public hearing is going to be, and know about any other actions we're taking to oppose the school and reclaim our county park space, please send a message to noschoolinbraddockpark@gmail.com to get on our mailing list.
