No high-rise in my back yard! - Stop "Option A"

No high-rise in my back yard! - Stop "Option A"
The Issue
Dear Middle River Terrace neighbors,
The future of our neighborhood is at stake. Middle River Terrace will be directly impacted by the city’s proposed "Option A" rezoning plan. This proposal allows for tall, high-rise buildings right next to single-family homes in the NE 13th Street corridor, creating a drastic and harmful change to the character of our neighborhood. Option A threatens to overshadow homes with towering structures, increase traffic on already narrow streets, and further strain our already limited parking and resources. Families, homeowners, and local businesses will bear the brunt of the consequences, which could irreversibly alter the area we call home. Without transition zones, our neighborhood will be left with towering structures and no way to stop incompatible projects. We’ll lose our right to challenge developments that negatively impact our homes and the quality of life here.
Now is the time to stand up for our neighborhood’s charm, safety, and sense of community. The city is moving forward with "Option A," but with enough voices, we can stop it and push for a more balanced, "neighborhood-friendly" rezoning plan. This is our opportunity to demand a more thoughtful approach to development that includes gradual transitions in building heights and retains the character of Middle River Terrace. We can’t afford to wait. Let’s come together and protect the future of our neighborhood before it’s too late.
Please spread the word and help us in collecting as many signatures as possible before the Central City Redevelopment Advisory Board on Monday, January 13, 2025.
Thank you!
