Raising awareness about 3 GE bills.
•NZ is currently GE-Free

•The HSNO Amendment bill may have a second reading coming soon.

•Do wear black and hot pink or even a cow costume!
•Ideas: Grab some pink spray paint and paint gumboots hot pink.
•Don a pink wig.
•Add a huge hot pink flower to your hair.
•T-shirt designs coming soon if you have a local to do it fast or an iron on transfer at home.

What to expect:
•Turn up! Hey thanks NZ!
•We need help holding light-weight signs.
•Watch out for the woman with the 'Maddest Cow' sticker. 

When: 12.45-2 PM, Wed Sept 23rd.

•Dress Code: Minimum black, black shoes, white sneakers if you don't have black.
•Maximum: Hot pink gumboots or shoes. Add a hot pink wig, ribbon or flower.
•If you have a cow suit - why not!

•Where: Parliament, Wellington.
•No food please, no alcohol.

What is GE?/What are GMOs?

Genetic Engineering (GE) uses laboratory-based biotechnology to deliberately alter an organism’s DNA. A Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) is the resulting plant, animal or microorganism whose genetic material has been altered. Unlike conventional breeding, GE can introduce, remove or change genetic material directly in the laboratory. Once released, GE organisms can also spread beyond their intended location through pollen, seeds, insects, wind and other means, contaminating non-GE crops and the wider environment.
