NO FLIGHT SCHOOLS IN PALM COAST, FLAGLER COUNTY, FLORIDA!!
The Issue
These flight schools are loud and obnoxious! They start as early as 6:30am and can go after midnight! There can be over 250 flights a day, an average of 520 operations every single day. They can be over 80 decibels! Many local residents cannot work from home, children can't do their homework, you cannot carry on a conversation, and the TV won't drown them out! It is so loud that you cannot go to sleep early, can't sleep in late, and can't take a nap.
Not only is there stress from this constant noise, but there is also the issue of toxic emissions . These planes still use LEADED GAS and are spewing lead and toxic chemicals over our homes, schools, hospitals, and businesses! The E.P.A. says NO AMOUNT of LEAD is SAFE!! Yet, we have been forced to live under them!
We DEMAND:
The FAA, The City of Palm Coast, the Flagler County Executive Airport, The Flagler County Commission, and the Flight Schools (Phoenix East Aviation, Embry Riddle, etc)
ENACT an ordinance to PROHIBIT TRAINING OVERFLIGHTS and include AIRCRAFT NOISE under NUISANCE NOISE Ordinance. ENFORCE noise abatement procedures and Fly Friendly guidelines THAT THE AIRPORT HAS LISTED ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE. The City of Palm Coast and the County of Flagler need to amend noise ordinances to include nuisance noise from aircraft overflights to stop the infringement on our rights to the peaceful enjoyment of our homes, comply with the Comprehensive Plan, and abide by FAA guidelines for safe altitude and airport compatibility!
In order to ensure the PEACE, QUALITY of LIFE, SAFETY, HEALTH, and WELFARE of the residents:
PROHIBIT TOUCH AND GO OVERFLIGHTS OVER NOISE SENSITIVE AND DENSELY POPULATED PALM COAST. T&Gs ARE NOT MANDATORY!
NO TRAINING FLIGHTS ON SUNDAYS!
HOTLINE AND PUBLIC LOG FOR COMPLAINTS AND PUBLIC REMEDIATION FOR VIOLATIONS!
ASSIGN OMBUDSMAN OR LIASON NOT AFFILIATED OR INFLUENCED BY FLAGLER COUNTY OR THE AIRPORT!
RECONVENE A PERMANENT AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE WITH RESIDENTS!
PER GRANT ASSURANCES, COMPLETE A PART 150 NOISE COMPATIBILITY STUDY. NOT THE OUTDATED 65DNL WHERE MR. SIEGER CLAIMS THE NOISE DOES NOT LEAVE THE AIRPORT, BUT LAMAX, NANL65, TA, TALA, OR SEL (SOUND EXPOSURE LEVEL).
