Preserve Canyon Hills Open Space in its Native State
Canyon Hills Proposal Meeting, Tuesday, September 13, 7:00pm, Lopez Ridge Recreation Cent
Chris Hendrickson
San Diego, CA, United States
9 Sept 2016 —
Reminder: Everyone interested in giving feedback on the proposal to change Canyon Hills Open Space into a resource-based park should attend the Mira Mesa Recreation Council meeting on September 13, 7:00pm, at 7725 Calle Cristobal, Lopez Ridge Recreation Center. If you have any opinion about what happens to this open space area, the September 13 meeting may be your ONLY opportunity to provide input. I especially encourage members of the Woodcrest Hills community to attend this meeting as Canyon Hills is essentially your backyard. The changes made to Canyon Hills will impact you directly. That will be especially true if a bathroom, lighting, new parking lots/ car access, and new trails are added to Canyon Hills. Please, plan on attending the September 13 meeting at Lopez Ridge Recreation Center if you have time. The attached photo shows a fire that occurred on Canyon Hills in 2008. The photo was taken by a neighbor in the Woodcrest Hills community. Apparently, the cause of this fire was never discovered. Many people are worried that changing Canyon Hills into a resource-based park will increase the area's fire risk, and the danger to our community, greatly. Thanks for your continued support! See you at the Mira Mesa Recreation Council meeting Tuesday at 7:00pm!
