Nintendo: Fix Motion Sickness in Donkey Kong Bananza

Nintendo: Fix Motion Sickness in Donkey Kong Bananza
The Issue
I’m starting this petition because Donkey Kong Bananza on Nintendo Switch 2 made me feel motion sick within the first 30 minutes, something I’ve never experienced before in a console game. I’ve only felt motion sickness once, during an intense VR session, but this is the first time a console game has been completely unplayable for me. And I’m not alone: many players online have shared that they too felt dizzy, nauseous, or disoriented while playing. This is heartbreaking for all of us who were excited to enjoy this new Donkey Kong game.
The real issue here is accessibility. The current camera and visual settings, (such as forced auto-centering, unavoidable camera shake, and abrupt zooms) make the game difficult or impossible to play for motion-sensitive players. Without change, many of us are left excluded from playing the game that should be fun and welcoming for everyone. Modern 3D games, even VR titles already include options to reduce motion sickness, proving it’s possible.
That’s why now is the time to act. This is a wonderful, highly anticipated game, and with a patch adding proper accessibility settings, Nintendo could ensure all players can enjoy it safely. We urge Nintendo to prioritize accessibility and include these features in a future update.
- We’re asking Nintendo to add the following options in a patch:
- Fully disable camera auto-centering — allowing manual camera control.
- Stable Camera Mode — remove all camera shake, menu vibrations, and automatic zooms.
- Adjustable FOV (Field of View).
- Visual accessibility features — fixed horizon lines, crosshair, high-contrast mode, reduced particles.
- Comfort vignette — like VR games, dim edges of the screen when turning the camera.
- Adjustable screen/windowed safe area — let players shrink the game view with black borders.
- Add a setting to the game to choose a lower FPS to prevent FPS drops.
- Any other setting or fix needed to prevent this to happen.
We just want to enjoy Donkey Kong Bananza like everyone else — without risking our health. Please, Nintendo, make this game accessible to more players with these much-needed options.
If you or someone you know has experienced nausea or dizziness while playing, please sign and share this petition. The more voices we raise, the sooner we can all enjoy Donkey Kong’s game together.
Thank you for supporting accessibility in gaming!
