HAMILTON RESIDENTS HELP Package presented to HWDSB as part of the name submission has been WITHHELD FROM COMMITTEE MEMBERS tasked with selecting the top 3 names to be presented to the Trustees to select from. Furthermore, no research or any information was presented on Tesla. It was assumed that the committee member had personal knowledge. HELP - Contact your trustee and voice your concern NOW before it is too late. The committee is scheduled to meet again on May 8th to finalize their work. One member even tried to discredit Tesla by trying to look up on her phone, his character, and pointed out that Tesla was a quitter because he quit when Edison refused to pay him!!! This was a SHOCK. Right after this statement, they voted. Giving each delegate 3 sticker to vote with. They had eliminated Tesla from consideration. They had narrowed it to 4 names, 3 of them from the same grouping. For those interested the final 4 were: James Munroe Franklin Shannen Koostachin Attawandaron Hiawatha After considerable discussion, and a strong voice of concern from one member, the committee decided to add Trillium Scott Park Nikola Tesla The committee will reconvene to finalize the deliberation. Here is HOPING that the committee members perform due diligence and get informed in time. The final decision rests with the school board trustees, however it should be pointed out that in another identical situation, the trustees in that school board refused to consider anything since they had 3 names proposed. Please read between the lines and then take action to call your school board trustee. A binder was submitted to the school board to be distributed to each of the Trustees plus 2 packages for the names selection committee and one for the director of the HWDSB. Only one set of binders containing 11,700 signatures was presented. At this time we do not know who has been provided their copy. We know for sure that the committee members were NOT ADVISED of this nor was any information in the package shared with the members. You have the choice to read this message and move on.
