With the relatively recent announcement of Santiago of the Seas, which is being made by the same folks who brought Dora and her friends to life, I think that, in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, I feel it would be beneficial if the children of today are introduced to the work that came before Santiago, that being Dora.
Now, love or hate, Dora was an influential show for its time, considering that it was the first show for children that taught them a different language. And for Hispanic people, the show showed kids that were Hispanic that there were shows that had them in mind. Shortly after Dora made it big, the creators did another one better by creating a spin-off known as Go, Diego, Go! And then, years later, ANOTHER spin-off was made called Dora and Friends: Into the City. All I'm pointing at here is that kids of the modern age, particularly Hispanic kids, should see these works before they're forgotten about in the wake of the coming debut of Santiago of the Seas.
That's why this petition supports shows aimed at a young Hispanic audience, be it Dora or Diego or Santiago, this petition should be presented before Nickelodeon and Viacom and the point must be made that those shows must NOT be left to the sands of time.
