It's really heartbreaking, knowing our leaders are watching as our homeless community grows. They watch year after year as these Mom, Dad's, Brothers, Sister's, Son's, Daughter's struggle to find warmth. Why? Because they haven't found a Permanent solution which is always right in front of their eyes. There are so many buildings left unused that can at least keep people warm for the nights. Hire cleaning crews, Security, etc. PUT OUR MONEY TO GOOD USE! Stop using it on the riverwalk and other useless things, when we have people out there succumbing to the weather. They are not just statistics!!!!! They're humans as well! Stop putting these people in your blind spot and waiting. There are many children out there as well. Put yourself in their shoes. With a massive crisis happening all the way around, pandemic, people losing their jobs, etc...... We, as a community have reached out more times than any one person... Or any, can count. Yet you sit back and do nothing KNOWING bad weather comes every year around the same time. For once, do the right thing here! You always want to sit around and wait until it's too late. We can do better. As a community, coming together the way we do to help people, we DO do better. Now, it's your turn.
