Stop harming ME/CFS patients - take CBT/GET out of NICE guidelines NOW.

The Issue

NICE has promised to review its current guidelines on ME/CFS, which is not scheduled to be completed until October 2020.  Meanwhile it has left the current guidelines in place, despite the recommendations for treatments that are known to be harmful.

Stop harming patients.  Take CBT/GET out of ME/CFS guidelines now!  Continuing to recommend GET in the face of evidence of harm amounts to MEDICAL ABUSE and VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS.

On the 24th January 2019, a motion was passed in the British Parliament which calls for (among other things) Graded Exercise Therapy (GET) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to be suspended as treatments for ME.

Graded Exercise Therapy (GET) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) must stop now.  Enough ME/CFS patients worldwide have been harmed by these treatments.
