Stop persecuting spoofers in Pokémon Go #SpoofersAreTrainersToo
The Issue
- Since the release of Pokémon Go in the summer of 2016, inequality has played a big role leaving a significant amount of players completely isolated from enjoying the game. Most of these people are disabled or rural players who are unable to go outside and enjoy this game the way others can, whether due to our disabilities or simply because Niantic has forgotten to add any kind of game content to the town we live in. For us, “spoofing” has been the bridge between us and the game we love. These players have been a huge help to others in the community but now, that bridge and joy are at risk of disappearing.
Recently, Niantic has begun suspending and even banning certain accounts with complete disregard for the time, efforts and amounts of money these players have spent throughout the years in this game. Niantic is prioritizing their Terms & Conditions over their own players base.
Help us stop these bans and suspensions, and to bring our message to Niantic that we are all equal and we are all players. It doesn’t matter how you play Pokémon Go, what really matters is the love, time and passion that we all put into it. Sign the petition and let our voices be heard.
