The "Crisis Team" Could Do More!
The Issue
We are all adviced to contact the "Crisis Team" by Mental Health Professionals when we're in a Crisis and feel suicidal or going through an Manic Episode.
In my opinion and experience with dealing with the Crisis Team is your not actually on the phone for long and they don't offer any support other than documentation on your mental notes. They don't offer much support when your needing it the most.
I also believe there is a Criteria that you have to meet to receive support but personally what the NHS website promotes as a crisis. Its completely different to the crisis team.
Another problem with the crisis team is once you have a negative experience you would be very reluctant to use the service again in the future.
Surely they have the resources to actually make a difference and support everyone no matter how high or low risk the person is on the other side of the phone.
"Because no one would be calling the crisis team unless they wasn't in a crisis!"
Everyone should feel supported and valued and they generally have a Duty of Care.
I have experienced and witnessed rude staff members and poor judgement and opinions when getting assessed.
I do have some great ideas on how to offer support to everyone, we all have access to the Internet now days and have email addresses and I believe sending some support worksheets out and mood charts will offer more support to someone who is struggling and could potentially save more lifes because they would feel supported and cared for.
You can access all these worksheets for free on the:

Suicide rates are still raising each year and we can't just sit here hoping these figures are going to change on there own. We have to do something and in my opinion if this service was more warm and offered more support to everyone we could possibly see a difference.
Kind Regards
