Following on from my previous update about fundraising and awareness raising, I am so pleased to report back about success on both fronts! Last Saturday was a beautiful evening for a swim and, for 1500 meters in the River Thames at Henley, after a tough start upstream and getting into my rhythm, I got into the “swim” of things and even enjoyed some parts of it (mainly when I’d finished!!). My sister, Edward’s Aunty Karon, did the swim with me and put in a legendary performance for her first ever open water swim and I managed to complete the course under my target of 30 minutes. We have currently raised just over £4,000 to support the amazing work of the charity Group B Strep Support – if you would like to donate, my justgiving page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/gilistars-gbsaware is still open for donations. And to update on the programme for Radio 5 Live with Anna Foster of “5 Live Drive” fame, talking about all sorts of birth related issues, including GBS awareness: this will be on Sunday evening on BBC Radio 5 Live at 7pm. So if you are able to listen (then or later on the BBC iplayer), please do. And remember, you still have a few days left of GBS awareness month to help save babies like Edward. Thank you to all of you who have supported us so far, and please keep up the good work. Fiona
