Charlotte Heath's baby, Aimee, survived group B Strep meningitis and now had multiple disabilities. Like me, Charlotte wants every pregnant woman to be told about group B Strep and offered a test. So many people are affected by group B Strep infection - not just the babies themselves and also their parents, but also their sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends. Too often, they know nothing of GBS until it strikes - and they can't quite believe that most of these devastating infections could be prevented for the sake of a test that would cost the NHS £11.
