Alfie had a drug habit. He told his psychologist he self medicates with cannabis. He said it “stops him feeling jumpy.” He is 13 year old and was away to pay off a £5 drug debt before he was found by police and took into emergency care! He was prescribed antipsychotics eventually off camhs 2 month ago. By the time they did it was too late. He refuses to take them and I’m told he is merely “anxious” I have still to meet someone suffering with anxiety wielding a kitchen knife and stabbing walls trying to kill his mother. He is suffering with his mental health and he’s abusing drugs as a result. Why are the Drs in camhs not acting on their patients cries for help? What a waste of a degree.
