To the almost 2,000 supporters of our petition:

Today, we took our next step towards change. We requested meetings with the Newtown Legislative Council, Board of Education, Board of Selectmen, and Board of Police Commissioners. Thanks to your support, we plan to present our petition and your signatures, as well as additional ideas for change to these four groups. Now is the time to end systemic racism in Newtown. Now is the time to support people of color in Newtown.

None of this would be possible without your support. We are not just 8 people demanding change. We are now 2,000 allies demanding change. Our requests will be heard and we will keep moving forward and do everything we can to make our community better for people of color.
