A new planning application for the partial reconstruction of Woolsington Hall has recently been submitted to Newcastle City Council (2016/0444/01/DET, 2016/0445/01/LBC).
The Woolsington Hall fire in December 2015 has drastically altered the dynamics of the initial proposals and we still do not know whether the enabling development is required, so it is important that this application is subject to public scrutiny and brought before the full planning committee - not decided on under delegated powers.
Public and councilors alike should be granted full access to the technical issues involved.
Comments on the applications can be made here https://publicaccessapplications.newcastle.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=makeComment&keyVal=O3RW7GBSGFH00 or by emailing lisa.clark@newcastle.gov.uk and must be received by May 4th – one day before the local elections.
We are still awaiting a response for an FOI request regarding the long-term future of Woolsington Hall and grounds, which was submitted to Newcastle City Council on 18th March.
