Tyne and Wear fire services confirmed this morning that a joint investigation into the cause of the fire at Woolsington Hall is to be carried out with Northumbria Police today. It is understood that fire crews are still at the scene. Save Newcastle Wildlife previously voiced concerns over the security of the historic property in a letter to the chief executive of Newcastle City Council and Historic England. We have emailed Newcastle City Council planning committee to ask they review the situation regarding the planning applications, given that the purpose of the proposed development was to enable the restoration of the listed property.
