We the residents of Elswick and beyond are devastated about the news that Elswick Pool is to close.

We disagree with the decision and want the decision to be reconsidered for the benefit of our community.

Elswick has a history of deprivation, particularly in health, and closing the pool can only add to the cycle of inequalities in health.

There has been no consultation on this and we would like the decision to be delayed for 6 months so that a solution can be found. The pool must not close and the building must not be mothballed.
