Well done to campaigners who have successfully fought off Banks Group's plans to extend the Bradley West mine in Durham.

Let's hope that Newcastle City Council agrees with Durham councillors that coal mining would inflict an 'unacceptable impact on the environment' and that they will reject Banks Group's plans for mining at Dewley Hill.

There is another round of public consultation on the Dewley Hill plans, following concerns raised by Newcastle City Council. 

It is vital that people object directly to the Council. The application documents can be viewed here:
