More than 600 people have now signed Newcastle Green Party's petition calling on Newcastle City Council to declare a state of climate emergency.

This includes calling on the council to include carbon reduction implications in all policy decision-making. 

Allowing coal mining at Dewley Hill will massively undermine the council's promises to lower carbon emissions. 

Please sign and share the petition, which needs 2,500 signatures to be debated by the council.
