Mike again standing in for Sarah. I have seen this reaction on social media and also spoken to people who don't feel entitled to comment because they are not local residents. Whilst local amenity is important the bigger issue here is the preservation of the Town Moor. Developers must be eyeing these proposals with interest. The concern is that roads projects often are used to open up land for development and attempts have been made in the past to develop the Town Moor. The Freemen have to my knowledge been entirely silent in public on the Blue House matter so there is no way of knowing their views. The Town Moor is more than just green space it is the jewel in Newcastles crown. With the opening up of green belt development to the north and west of the city the loss of any of the inner city provision should be a concern to everyone. Whether or not you live in Jesmond or Gosforth, if you agree that every inch of the Town Moor is important please tell your friends, use this petition and comment on www.newcastle.gov.uk/roads. Thanks.
