Newcastle Great Park Consortium has proposed a 3-metre wide asphalt shared cycleway/footpath through Havannah Nature Reserve to facilitate inappropriate development in Cell B1 of Newcastle Great Park.
We understand the path will likely be lit and involve the removal of trees and vegetation in the reserve, however, there are no details of exactly how this will be achieved.
This will have a significant adverse effect on important species and habitats in the reserve.
We know Urban Green Newcastle, who manage the reserve, have been discussing these plans with the Council behind closed doors, yet they do not appear to have objected to the plans.
Please object to the plans by emailing your concerns to planning.control@newcastle.gov.uk, quoting planning application 2017/0666/09/RES
