Progress at this point has stalled. In order to move forward to our goal of reinstating year-round cabin camping at Allegany State Park, we need two things: attention and advocacy from our elected officials, and news coverage.

In order for this to happen, I am requesting the following actions: call your state senate representative, and request that the advocate for a reinstatement of year-round cabin camping at Allegany State Park, specifically that the less expensive trails be open after October 29th, and that winterized cabins, other than the 14 Summit cabins be open year-round.

Second: I am asking that you call the Jamestown Post Journal at 1 (716) 487-1111 and the Olean Times Herald at 716-372-3121, connect to the news room, and ask that they run a story on the reduction of camping access at Allegany State Park.

Most people are not aware of these changes, as it appears the state has been trying to keep it fairly quiet. The more news coverage that there is, the more people will take action.

Best,

Renee
