When I started this petition, I used the phrase "rustic cabin" to differentiate between unplumbed cabins, whether they are winterized or not, and the privately-operated, full-service cottages. In the parlance of Allegany State Park, rustic refers to non-winterized cabins, which currently close at the end of November, and open in April. 

To be clear, all cabins at ASP will be closed from October 29th until May May 20th, beginning in 2022. The winterized cabins cost $107 per night, or a bit over $400 per week, and a significant discount is available for citizens with disabilities, through the New York State Access Pass Program for these sites, which is not available for the cottages.
