Say No To Spectrum Monopoly in New Windsor!

The Issue

The availability of an alternative TV and internet service providers, is non-existent in the Town of New Windsor, NY.  Currently Spectrum is the primary and in most locations, the only TV and ISP in the town. There are current discussions on social media regarding the displeasure with the options available for internet and tv service in this area.  Due to COVID-19, more families are working and learning from home and require dependable internet service.  The only other service available in most areas is satellite service.  Spectrum provides sub-standard service and the residents deserve better service.  Our elected officials and representatives should coordinate with representatives from Verizon, AT&T, Spectrum and other providers to sign an agreement to provide it's residents and consumers with choices for quality internet and tv service instead of a monopoly. Spectrum's rate for Gig Broadband Service is nearly 2x the cost of Verizon FiOS Gigabit Service.  We deserve to have the same options as the surrounding municipalities of City and Town of Newburgh, and Cornwall.  Monopolies are not in the best interest of the consumers, fair competition and comparable rates are!
