Good news: I am told that there is a letter on it's way which will inform me about the progress towards a Feasibility Study for the Average Speed Cameras along B3078. However, I believe that funding is still an issue. This morning I have pledged Juma's insurance money towards the cost of the study - I have no wish to 'profit' from his death and he is irreplaceable to me.
I want to thank everyone who has signed this petition both before and after the Council's decision to support the provision of Average Speed Cameras. We still have a very long way to go and in the meantime animals continue to be killed on this road - and others - within the New Forest. Without enforcement, even if the speed limit was lowered, these figures will continue to rise; we know that when the clocks go back, the figures go up.
