I have been invited to the Council Meeting on 11th October which is set to discuss this matter. The organiser of the original NFDC petition will be allowed to speak on the matter and I have been told that I will be allowed to speak afterwards. My intention, of course, is to offer my full support and I will emphasise the value of these animals to the ecology of the Forest and the tourism industry, the fact that very few collisions are genuine accidents, and the frequency with which people speed across the Forest. As always, I am nervous about speaking publically, but I have to do this for Juma and for all of the other animals that are mowed down by people who are not driving to the conditions or keeping within the speed limit.
