Big news! Yesterday Environment Minister Michael Gove summoned National Rail CEO Mark Carne over his company's indiscriminate mass tree felling operation. Rail Minister Jo Johnson came out and said the company need to limit their destruction of trees.
These are important steps but it doesn't go far enough.
A ‘TEMPORARY’ HALT TO THEIR PLANNED ’10MILLION’ MASS TREE DESTRUCTION…IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
Network Rail are feeling the heat but we need to turn it up further.
What we need you to do now is to tweet @networkrail, following this link: https://twitter.com/networkrail. Tell them to stop chopping down trees, using the hashtag #StopTheChop.
Network Rail need to know that the politicians might be calling them for questioning but the people will not stop pressuring them until they stop chopping down healthy trees…‘PERMANENTLY!... to avoid destroying and losing our critical bird, bat, insect and hibernating wildlife’s entire survival habitat, which would advance and further the decline to their already diminishing populations nationwide.
If all 67,000+ of you tweet at them they'll really feel the pressure!
Thanks to all of you who have signed the petition but keep sharing so we can reach the 100,000 target or more and get this tree destruction ‘STOPPED for GOOD’.
