News broke yesterday that Netflix has suspended three employees, including a trans employee who spoke out against 'The Closer', for attending a meeting without permission. Rather than listening to the LGBTQ community, including their own staff, about the hurt caused by this special, Netflix would prefer to close doors, close down conversation and force people out.

Disappointingly, but unsurprisingly, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos also doubled-down, defended Chappelle and asserted that no matter how much pressure is applied they won't remove the show from streaming.

This is despite the fact that Netflix themselves have a policy that content ‘designed to incite hate or violence’ is not allowed on their platform. A policy that they are clearly willing to ignore when it comes to throwing the trans community under the bus.

Thank you to everyone who's signed the petition so far. Let's keep signing, keep sharing, and keep building the pressure on Netflix. Let's get them to listen to their LGBTQ staff, viewers and the community and understand that we cannot and will not accept being the butt of the joke.

Let's shout even louder so that they have no choice but to hear us.
