Copy of email sent to Reed Hastings at Netflix today

Dear Mr Hastings, I am emailing you again asking for a comment from you about the choice you have made to continue to release the film 'To the Bone' despite awareness of the damage it will do to people with eating disorders or who are vulnerable to develop an eating disorder. The petition was instigated to ask that you withdraw the film release and it is still growing strongly. Today I have heard people in recovery from eating disorders comment that the trailer to the film has deeply unsettled them and triggered unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. These were adults who are better able to pull themselves back and I worry if they are having this response then what harm it will do to very young vulnerable people less in touch with their 'healthy' voice. Please provide a comment to all the people who felt strongly enough and took the time to sign this petition. I also call for Netflix to donate any proceeds from this film to eating disorder organisations as this film will indirectly impact on eating disorder rates and treatment need both now and for years to come.
