Agents, this petition has been an invaluable part of the movement to save Agent Carter, but with the announcement last week from Netflix’s chief content officer, Ted Sarandos, that the streaming service has no intention of picking up Marvel’s Agent Carter for a third season, we must look to the future for the campaign. (Read the Netflix article from Entertainment Weekly here: http://www.ew.com/article/2016/07/27/netflix-agent-carter) From the first boom of over 15,000 signatures in under 24 hours to the monumental number of signatures (over 127k) leading up to the Netflix announcement, this petition has served as the flagship for fans to voice their collective thoughts about what makes Agent Carter unique and important. Now it is time for a new chapter. Because we cannot in good conscience alter the recipients for this petition directed to Netflix, we ask that you raise your voices once again to save Agent Carter. We have researched many avenues to pursue a future for the show and we hope you will agree that we have found the best long-term course of action for a petition. This time, we’re going straight to Marvel. The restrictions leading to the Netflix announcement were, in part, legal hurdles that only people inside of the negotiating companies would have known about. (But just think: in order to know all of the details explained in the article, they would have had to of at least looked into what it would take for Netflix to save Agent Carter.) By taking our petition straight to Marvel, we ask them to find the best possible way to continue the story of Peggy, Jarvis, and the rest of the cast of characters from Agent Carter.
