Don’t punish 300M people for politics — bring back Russian dubs on Netflix!

We, the undersigned, are long-time Netflix subscribers and members of the global Russian-speaking community.

Russian is spoken by more than 300 million people worldwide — not only in Russia, but also in Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltics, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Israel, Europe, and North America. For many of us, Russian is our first or only language.

Since 2022, Netflix has removed most Russian-language dubbing from new shows and films. This decision unfairly punishes millions of paying subscribers around the world who have nothing to do with politics, governments, or conflicts.

Many Ukrainians, Belarusians, Georgians, Armenians, and others — including those living in the U.S. and EU — rely on Russian dubs because they do not speak other languages fluently. By cutting Russian dubbing, Netflix has excluded an enormous audience that wants to enjoy content just like English, Spanish, French, Korean, or any other supported language.

We respectfully ask Netflix to:

Restore Russian dubs where licensing and availability make it possible.
Partner with international dubbing studios outside Russia to create new dubs.
Recognize language access as a matter of customer rights, not politics.

Netflix is a platform for global storytelling. All customers deserve equal access in their language. We are loyal subscribers who pay for this service, and we ask that Russian-dubbed content once again be offered consistently to audiences worldwide.
