I’m just going come out and say what every Manifest fan is thinking. Not signing on Athena Karkanis for the final season of Manifest is a HUGE mistake! Grace is a pivotal character and the literal centerpiece to the “Stone” family. Most people assume that role belongs to Ben Stone, but they are wrong. Grace has held everything together and is the glue to her husband’s sanity that is clearly falling to pieces trying to save everyone from the impending doom of the death date.

We all know the first season started off rocky with Grace and Ben, but there was so much growth and building back their relationship to a stronger place than even before the flight 828 incident. Ben and Grace are supposed to be together. Ben quite literally came through time and space, and reunited with his wife and daughter Olive. Grace mourned Ben and Cal’s death and when they returned it quite literally turned her life upside down. Unlike Jared who did not show up to support his ex fiancé at the airport, Grace diligently waited for her son and husband not knowing who or what awaited her. In real life you could only imagine how terrified she must have been, but she was there! Grace’s love for Ben never died. The very reason they went on this trip to Jamaica in the first place was to relieve the pent up stress causing a division between them due to Cal’s cancer. The last minute flight changes, Ben, Cal and Michaela taking another flight was divine intervention. Flight 828 was Cal’s chance at beating cancer, and the passengers second chance at a new and improved life. Which included Ben and Grace, but not to say it didn’t come at a cost. If destiny really exists in “Manifest,” clearly they belong together. Their love have defied all odds including the the very laws of the universe. Despite all the unbelievable trials they have been through, nearly everything they faced was together. Especially, after Grace started to understand the callings and what they were up against. They mended their relationship and the Stone family was whole once again. Although, there have been an abundance of trials and tribulations the Stones aren’t backing down, Michaela included. Grace nearly died giving birth to their miracle baby Eden, and despite Grace’s selfless wishes to save the baby over herself, Ben chose to save Grace above all, because he confessed he couldn’t live without her. After following the callings, it all worked out in the end, but what was the point in all of this if Grace isn’t going to be with her family in the end? Why have a near death experience and Ben confess how much he needs her, only to take her away anyway? Why have Grace lose her brother, go through the stages of grieving, nearly open a restaurant in her brother’s honor, and have the miracle baby Eden if not to bring the family closer, but to rip it all away from her in the end?!? Too much has been taken from Grace. As much as I like the actress “Holly Taylor,” what they did with her character arc in the end was just infuriating. By Angelina killing Grace, she quite literally wiped out the entire known maternal side of Grace’s family line. The disturbed Angelina robbed everything from the Stone family, Eden included.

All I’m asking is for you to take a moment to consider the plea from Athena’s fanbase, and of course if she is willing to return, signing her back on for the last season. There’s so many possibilities to bring her back. Medically induced coma until the end of season while she heals, resurrection through time travel, Cal returning and he and Olive getting her the help she needs in time. Among so many other possibilities. The Stone family need Grace! Manifest will not be the same without her. We will already have to adjust to an older character “Ty Doran” playing Cal, which I’m sure he will do great in his role… but you’re missing a chance to have Grace be there for him after how hard she tried to get him back. The name “Grace” literally means in Greek and latin mythology “God’s grace” AKA “Grace of God,” and yet she loses the most of all. Where is Grace’s saving grace? Murderous people, and drug dealers are brought back and given a second chance at redemption, but there’s no chance for a selfless, mother of three children to return?!? We ask you please to give us hope! Manifest needs a saving grace!
