Many of us have seen the Netflix Original titled "Hoops". I'm not gonna beat around the bush here; it's raunchy, it's a bit offensive, and it's got some pretty bad animation. But above all, it's funny. In the last episode we are left with a lot to think about and a lot to hope for in the next season, but as of 12/9/2020 the show has been canceled by Netflix after just one season.

I feel this is unjust because most shows on Netflix are given more than just one season to prove themselves as being capable of greatness. As I stated previously yes it is raunchy, yes its poorly animated, yes it's offensive, but there aren't many shows on Netflix that have this style of humor. I feel that even though this show may be offensive it's still a great show and it should be given at the very least a chance to wrap up what it has already started. 

Furthermore I feel since there aren't many shows on Netflix with this style of humor and we're in such a dark time in the world right now, above all else we need shows like this to help cheer people up. Personally, I've been having a really rough time with the current pandemic as I was already stuck at home for a year before the covid-19 outbreak due to an injury I had which hindered my ability to walk. Hoops has helped me take my mind off of a lot of the pain and suffering that people are going through in the world today, and has helped cheer me up from the depression I've been in. 

Conclusively, I believe Hoops should be renewed for a second season. During the era of this pandemic we need many different genre of comedic relief to make sure everyone has something to laugh at and cheer them up during this time of such pain and suffering. Hoops is a dime in a dozen; there aren't many shows like it in terms of it's humor. If you cancel hoops, you're taking away an outlet for people like me with a satirical cynical sense of humor.
