I have been excited for this Live Action Adaptation for Avatar The Last Airbender since it’s original announcement in 2018. I had heavily followed everything that was happening because I have been a devoted and loving fan of the series since it’s inception. I had learned of the massive amount of scene scouting they had done and the large casting sessions that happened so that they made sure they found not only racially authentic actors but also that those actors and actresses could do the intensive action requirements as well doing their designated characters with justice and grace. Learning that this was also going to be Netlfixs most expensive project to date only added to my suspense and intrigue. The real icing on the cake though was learning that the ORIGINAL creators were being brought back and given full creative control. With that, i was dead set going to make sure I watch this show even if it killed but, but then i recently learned that Michael and Bryan chose to leave the production of the Avatar The Last Airbender live action Tv Series due to creative differences. They were told they would have full creative control over this project and two years in things didn’t turn out that way. With this petition I hope to be able to get enough signatures to force Netflix’s hand to offer Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko their positions back as well as full creative control of the project relinquished back to them. Netflix has been HEAVILY scrutinized in the past for many terrible LA adaptations that they have done which yielded little to no return and royally angered many fandoms that take those franchises seriously. If this project doesn’t do AtLA justice I firmly believe Netflix will lose far more money than they can afford to lose. So please sign this petition to get the ORIGINAL creators back on deck.
