Today in Burlington, Wisconsin, the Nestlé-sponsored ChocolateFest kicks off--but not everyone is cheering. So Compassion Over Killing has deployed geo-targeted mobile ads to draw attention to the massive suffering of cows behind Nestlé’s sweet treats. Join us in speaking up for cows TODAY: Leave a Facebook comment for the festival asking it to urge its big sponsor to end cruel horn removal & churn out more vegan options! (Use our sample message below.)
Our recent investigation of a Nestlé supplier exposed brutal yet everyday practices that can be seen inside dairy farms across the country, including bloody hoof trimming and hot irons being burned into calves’ flesh to permanently destroy their horns and growth tissue in a cruel process known as “dehorning” or “disbudding.”
Now, over 20,000 of you have joined us in urging Nestlé, the world’s largest food and dairy company, to implement immediate systemic changes to push the dairy industry forward by eliminating the cruel removal of calves’ horns and horn tissue for its products once and for all--and to churn out more compassionate vegan options.
And as the ChocolateFest sponsored by the dairy giant gets underway in Wisconsin, we’re taking this message to thousands of festival-goers via targeted mobile ads to their cell phones, encouraging them to take action against Nestlé’s nightmare.
Help us moo-ve Nestlé in a compassionate direction TODAY! Leave a quick, polite Facebook comment for the ChocolateFest encouraging it to urge its top sponsor to make changes for cows. Use our sample below or your own polite message:
SAMPLE COMMENT: I was shocked by a recent Compassion Over Killing investigation that exposed cruel, barbaric horn removal in your sponsor Nestlé’s supply chain. As the world’s largest dairy company, Nestlé has the ability and responsibility to be a true food leader by ending cruel dehorning and churning out more vegan options. Please demonstrate a commitment to compassion by encouraging Nestlé to make these changes for cows. Thank you.
