The Kaka subdivision proposed for the Maitai Valley is undergoing the Resource Management Act (RMA) process - it's critical & urgent to get in as many submissions as possible before the 8th of December.
The current RMA process is *even_more_important* than when you signed the petition - and it's urgent! Below, is all the information you need to make a submission to oppose Private Plan Change 28.
Over 12,500 people have signed this petition (includes hard copies) to say No to rezoning land in the Kaka/Maitai valley from rural to residential, but Council hasn't responded, so we MUST get submissions into the RMA process and tell the RMA Commissioners why this subdivision is unwanted and unwarranted.
The Maitai needs your voice NOW.

If you’re with family or friends, send a submission each! The Maitai Valley needs as many voices as possible.
Make your submissions:
- Download / Save the form so you can write in it. (Link takes you to website).
- Fill in the details that are yellow highlighted and add your own reasons at the end if you wish.
- Please ask to be heard in support of your submission - this is an important opportunity for you to tell the Commissioners in person about your reasons for opposing subdivision in the Maitai.
Save the Maitai has filled in some of the answers for your convenience - visible in blue italic including valid reasons for the RMA Commissioners to oppose this rezoning. However we strongly recommend you make personalised submissions as they are usually more effective.
Photos can be very helpful, as the RMA commissioners are often unfamiliar with the area - we don't know yet who they are or where they're from. You can also include URLS (links to websites) and other documentation.
If you would like to suggest alternative outcomes if the Plan Change is not declined, you could include them in your submission.

You can email your completed form as an attachment, to submissions@ncc.govt.nz with Plan Change 28 in the subject line.
