Please attend our presentation to Nelson City Council on Tuesday 22nd September. We need strength in numbers to show Councillors how important the Maitai is to Nelsonians and how many of us oppose this development !
We cannot state strongly enough how much we need your support! Our petition and flyer deliveries will mean little unless we turn up to Council and put the pressure on.

Tuesday 22nd Sept:
MEET 8.30am outside Civic House on Trafalgar St.
We must be inside by 8.45 am.
The meeting starts 9am, finishes 9.15am.
Two Save the Maitai representatives will share our collective concerns to Council.
- Bring your friends, family members, neighbours !!
- Bring your A4 homemade sign to hold up, with wording aimed at the councillors e.g. “No Residential Rezoning”, “Keep the Maitai’s Charm” etc. Positive signs are good!
- If we are still at Level 2 please consider wearing a mask, & scan the council QR code when you arrive.
- If NCC does not allow public entry due to Covid restrictions supporters will remain on Trafalgar Street outside Civic House.
- Please RSVP: Email us at savethemaitai@gmail.com to let us know if you can come & how many will come with you. This will give us an approximate number to assist our planning.
- Late deciders also welcome :)
