Good evening. As of now, we’ve got just 90 signatures left until we hit our goal of 3,000 signatures! I can’t wait to disclose the projects I’ve been working on as soon as we reach this goal. The (hopefully unsuccessful) closing of Booksellers affects not only the Booksellers’ supporters and book lovers, but also the community surrounding the Laurelwood Shopping Center. Booksellers is by far the largest new-release bookstore in the surrounding area and, thus, makes it an integral element to the literacy lovers of Memphis. Why is this you might ask? Booksellers is incredibly convenient to where I spend most of my day during the week: school. White Station High School is located less than a mile from Booksellers, which makes it perfectly located for dropping by to pick up a book for school or just lounging around and hanging out with friends. White Station High School students and faculty members will miss this opportunity without this beloved store. For you, Booksellers is probably a meaningful part of your life for a different reason. That’s exactly the point. There are countless neighborhoods, schools, and communities that surround Booksellers and count the store for its public space, access to literature, children's story time and of course... homey feel. Whatever your reason may be, thank you for sharing it in the comments section of the petition. I and many others love reading your reasons for supporting Booksellers and how it has touched your life. We are still working diligently to reach out to potential investors and ensure that the legacy of Booksellers doesn’t end here. Don’t let the story end now! Continue to spread the word. Questions, comments, or suggestions? Let me here them here: savebooksellers@gmail.com Upcoming at Booksellers Sale this weekend: 20% of all products & Buy 2 Get 1 free on all children’s books No other upcoming events right now, but visiting the Bookseller’s staff is always an enjoyable experience :) Remember #MemphisGetsLit, have hope, and keep sharing so we can keep fighting, Emmett Miskell
