Neighbors protesting Unwanted Glamping Site Purposed in Hendry County FL

The Issue

Our quiet life in the Rural Agricultural Residential Community in Hendry County, Florida is under threat. As long-time residents with deep roots in our agricultural community, many amongst us are on fixed incomes and survive by raising our farm animals. The proposed Glamping Camp development poses a serious threat to our peaceful way of life and the safety of our livestock.

We are deeply concerned about the potential for theft and disruption. We fear that the introduction of a commercial activity in our rural setting could increase the risk of criminal activity, specifically targeting our farm animals, which form a substantial portion of our livelihood.

Hendry County, with a population of roughly 39,000 people, showcases an economy that is rooted in agriculture. The agricultural sector contributes enormously to our local economy and community, and must be protected from commercial intrusions that could disturb the local ecosystem and disrupt our pastoral lifestyle (U.S. Census Bureau).

Our rural community is not a fitting place for a Glamping Camp ground. The proposal is completely out of character with our area and ignores the pastoral nature of our homes and farms.

We urge the decision-makers of Hendry County, Florida, to deny the approval of this out of place Glamping Camp site and preserve our rural community. Your support will help protect the livelihoods of long-term residents, preserve our close-knit community and safeguard our agriculture-based economy. Please sign the petition to help stop the approval of the Glamping Camp in Hendry County, Florida.
