Neighbors Oppose Panda Express at 4150 N. Cicero

The Issue

A Panda Express is being proposed for the Bank of America site at 4150 N. Cicero.

Alderman Jim Gardiner has held a public meeting (via Zoom) October 20th to discuss this proposal.  The meeting was cut short when Gardiner abruptly muted and then terminated the connection of attendees who voiced opposition to his tactics.
I think a Panda Express would be a disaster for our neighborhood. Neighbors have expressed concerns about trash, rats, traffic and the smell of grease.  Even with Cicero Avenue running through our community, we have been able to maintain a lovely, quiet, residential feel to our blocks. Let's pull together to keep our neighborhood as lovely as it is!

I hope you will join me in speaking against this project.  It might be futile, but our alderman said he wants to gain community feedback before granting a special use permit, and according to his office, the proposal is still at a point that he can deny it.  Sign this petition, send your own email to the alderman, and stay apprised of further developments, in this story and in the investigations Gardiner and his office are currently under. The new construction at 6 Corners will need diverse retail tenants, and I hope the alderman will work hard to bring companies that benefit our neighborhood to those new developments.

Thank you for your support and engagement in your community !
